It all started when…
Sylvia Liebman turned 100 on July 26, 2016. Looking for new activities as a centenarian in excellent health, she started in on a multi-year period of writing. An artist for all her life, she began writing poetry, anecdotes, and essays in notebooks, and on stray pages and even napkins to make her time more worthwhile. Prolific for the next several years, she slowed down, she did not stop. Even when she approached her mortal end in 2023, she was still scribbling when she had the energy.
When not writing and drawing she also took time to take voice lessons, walk constantly, and engage with her many visitors of all ages. At age 101 she even took an all night road trip up the East Coast.
All of her own writings and portrait art published on this site under the tab HER WORK were created after she turned 100. Photos, drawings and other items from her life are under the tab GALLERY.
Every year on Mother’s Day and on her birthday, more of the content of her work will be added until there is no more. The hope is that through this site her great grandchildren and anyone else who never knew her will learn what she was like, and that those who knew her will smile when they recall who she was.
